Dr. Ardalan is a Diplomate in Clinical Psychology from
the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) and currently holds the
position of the Chief of the Ethics Committee for the ABPP since January 2011. He
has been serving in the Ethics Committee for the ABPP since January 2006 and
was the Associate Chief of this committee from January 2009 to December 2010. He
was the Western Regional representative for the ABPP Board of Directors in
Clinical Psychology from January 2003 to December 2006 when he was responsible
for coordination of examinations of all psychologists pursuing ABPP Diplomate
status in Clinical Psychology in the Western Region of the United States. Dr.
Ardalan's private practice includes evaluation and treatment of variety of
psychological disorders in individual, marital, and family therapy for a
diverse population, performing pre-employment psychological screening for
different law enforcement agencies including the California State Personnel
Board, providing psychological treatment and evaluations as a Qualified Medical
Evaluator (QME) within the Workers' Compensation system, competency
evaluations, fitness-for-duty evaluations, and psychological evaluations for
the Immigration and Naturalizations Services. Dr. Ardalan is an active member
of the American Psychological Association (APA) and California Psychological
Association (CPA) and is licensed to practice psychology in California (PSY
15907) and is fluent in Farsi.
Dr.
Ardalan received his Ph.D. and Master of Science degrees in Clinical Psychology
from the multicultural, APA-approved program at Howard University, Washington,
D.C. in 1993. He completed his APA-approved internship at Malcolm Grow United
Stated Air Force (USAF) Medical Center at Andrew Air Force Base, Maryland where
he completed rotations in Outpatient Mental Health Clinic, Behavioral Health
Psychology, Inpatient Psychology, Neuropsychology, Alcohol Rehabilitation
Center, and Child Psychology. Following completion of his internship, Dr.
Ardalan served in the USAF as a clinical psychologist and became a licensed
psychologist in 1995. In his first assignment at Walson Air Force Hospital in
Fort Dix, New Jersey, he assumed the position of the Chief of Psychology and
Substance Abuse Services. His responsibilities included performing short-term
and long-term individual psychotherapy, marital and group psychotherapy, stress
management, sanity boards, psychological testing/assessment, crisis assessment
and intervention, and alcohol and drug evaluations. Dr. Ardalan finished his
career with the USAF at McClellan Air Force Base where he served as the
Commander of Mental Health Services Flight and directed three distinct Mental
Health programs' clinical and administrative operations.
