Counseling & Therapy

As many as 15 million Americans seek counseling or therapy services each year.

People seek counseling and therapy for a wide variety of reasons.  Some people are going through a difficult life transition, while others are trying to learn more about themselves and lead more fulfilling lives.  Some are dealing with work-related concerns, relationship issues, or stressful experiences.  Many people are seeking treatment for depression, panic, posttraumatic stress, obsessive thoughts or compulsive behaviors, phobias, or other conditions.  Other people are simply trying to make positive changes in their lives, or searching for a greater sense of happiness or authenticity.

Research has shown that most people benefit from therapy.  Approaches to therapy can vary, and may include cognitive-behavioral, person-centered, existential, solution-focused, psychodynamic, and other approaches.  Please speak with your doctor if you have any questions or would like more information about the different approaches that can be utilized in therapy.

Sessions are typically 45 to 50 minutes in length, and unless other arrangements are made the fee of $150 is due at the beginning of each session.  Therapy can last from a few sessions to more than a year in duration, depending on the goals, problems, or issues being addressed.  If you are interested in scheduling a counseling or therapy appointment with one of the doctors, please contact us.
